Safety & Security

The safety and security in the KMTTP Sittwe port facility and for ships visiting the port facility are issues of high importance in the operation of the Port Facility. The Management of KMTTP Sittwe have documented strong processes to identify, evaluate and implement preventive and response measures in the Port Facility Safety and Security to mitigate the threats and vulnerabilities to the port facility and ships.

 

  1. For Port Safety & Security at KMTTP Sittwe several international regulations are complied with, namely: 

                         i.         MARPOL

                       ii.         ISPS-code

                      iii.         IMDG-code

 

2. KMTTP Sittwe’s Control Tower operates 24-hours a day as a first point of contact for any Safety and Security related issues. They Control Tower Operators are trained to mobilize a Quick Response Team to respond to the emergency and bring operations back to normal as quickly as possible.

 

3. KMTTP Sittwe maintains a communication link with MPA Yangon and the MPA Port Officer Sittwe Port to keep the Authorities informed and to ensure a combined effort to mitigate the threat or vulnerabilities, if needed. 

 

4. As Safety and Security of Ports and Terminals are vital to the safe operation of Ships and Terminals, all such information is Confidential and not published for public viewing. If any external party requires any additional information on Safety and Security, he should contact the Terminal PRO whose contact number is listed on the Terminal website.
